5 Healthy Catering Trends

Catered meals can be delicious or a big no-thank you in terms of taste, but the new question is how can we stay healthy at events where the only option is to eat what’s being served? Thankfully, you can have delicious healthy food catered at almost any function if you go with Two Chefs Catering and follow the trends below. Adam and Daniel of Two Chefs catering have been perfecting all types of canapes and creating impressive food stations on luxury yachts, and at weddings and other events in Phuket since 2014, and they are ready to cater your next event with unforgettable (and healthy!) appetizers, drinks, entrees and more.

Stations

Talk about choices, you can choose from a freshly shucked oyster station, sushi, taco, or spit roasted pig. Personally, I would go with the the ultimate carving station which includes leg of lamb, Australian rib eye steak, red wine and rosemary marinated pork tenderloin, honey glazed picnic ham, 24 hour beer brined whole chicken. Make sure to consider the Pad Thai and Thai Satay stations, those also have healthy options and if you aren’t eating red meat, go for chicken, prawns or tofu. Your guests will be amazed at the options they have while keeping under calorie count.

Canapes

International, Thai, and Western canapes all have healthy options. Two Chefs Catering offers a seafood canape of Seared ahi tuna, mango, avocado, yuzu and cilantro tartare served in a savory cone, or how about a Sesame grilled salmon fillet salad with ginger dressing?

Healthy Snacks

Say your guests are hungry for a late-night snack. You could break out the brownies, but I would recommend you instead delight them with tandoori chicken flatbread with mango chutney, roasted bell peppers, red onion, mozzarella cheese and fresh cilantro or a Moroccan spiced lamb slider with cucumber and mint yogurt, grilled onion and tomato on a brioche bun. And while we’re on the topic of sliders…

Low-Cal Sliders

These greasy sounding snacks are taking on a new healthy twist, as Two Chefs serves up Norwegian salmon and pulled pork versions that will delight your taste buds without sending you straight to the gym.

Plant Based Foods

Once we’ve dined on appetizers like roast breast of chicken with carrots; potato dauphinoise; wilted spinach; crispy leek and Madeira jus or halibut served with lemon & capers sauce Orange glazed asparagus, sundried tomato couscous.

I didn’t mention dessert, but you get the point, Two Chefs has you covered there too. One thing I especially like is the variety, the choices, even the option to create your own menu with the chefs. While there are plenty of regular calorie options, the healthier options are just as delicious, and you won’t have to hunt for them as they are plenty and come with almost any menu you choose.
